The environment, or the outdoors even, just nature in general was not something I thought about often before I experience the majesty of it during a backpacking trip in the pacific northwest. Since, I've become incredibly interested in (ideally, preservation of wilderness, but realistically,) conservation of wilderness. After graduating from New Trier High School and my first year at Brown over, I currently plan to use the rest of my time there to study wildlife (plant and animal) and its conservation, as well as ways to educate people in the topic.
I enjoy rock climbing, camping, paintballing, and playing soccer. I'm a die-hard Blackhawks fan. My favorite animal is a Pelican. I'm a dog person.
What is the relation of subterranean environments and their microbial communities to above ground ecosystems and what does this mean for land management and wilderness restoration?
