Germination Trials of Four Sub-Alpine Plant Species at the Chicago Botanical Garden 2021
Chicago Botanical Garden

Ecology, Labwork, Plant Traits

Student would run a germination experiment with seeds from four sub-alpine plant species in the CBG seed bank. This would involve formulating the most successful methods to encourage germination in these four species and depending on success of this, enacting drought treatments for the seedlings. This work would be incorporated into a larger project based in Colorado to assess the effects of early snowmelt on sub-alpine species survival and population growth.
