Elsa Godtfredsen
PhD Student in the Plant Biology and Conservation Program
Chicago Botanic Garden and Rocky Mountain Biological Labratory
I am a first year PhD student in Dr. Amy Iler’s laboratory which focuses on studying global environmental change in population and community ecology. My specific research interests are alpine plant ecology and drought physiology which intersect in my research on the changes that climate change is creating in timing of snow melt in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I am planning on investigating how early snowmelt may lengthen periods of drought for alpine plant species which can cause changes in plant phenology, reproduction and physiology. In my free time I love to cook, hang out with my crazy kitten, write and hike.
