Marcello De Vitis
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Chicago Botanic Garden
I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate specialized in plant ecology and conservation. My main research interest is to investigate the regeneration biology and ecology of native plant species, particularly endangered ones, with the objective to produce data to support reintroduction and restoration interventions.
I test my research hypotheses through both laboratory and field trials, and seeds are often the protagonists of my experiments!
If you want to know a bit more about myself, you can have a look at https://www.chicagobotanic.org/research/staff/de_vitis. I am also a member of the Board of the International Network for Seed-based Restoration. For more info about INSR, have a look at https://ser-insr.org/board
